One of the biggest surprises of the 2017 was an letter from the Fund of Fine arts I recieved during the summer. This letter stated the following (approx.): ,,With a great pleasure we'd like to announce you, that you'd been chosen by the committee of the Fund of Fine Arts of Slovakia to become an laureate of the Martin Benka award 2016 for your academical/university achievements." Needless to say...i couldn't sleep that night from excitement. I would never expect to be nominated...and to actually got the award, that was only a dream!!
I cannot even express how thankful I am to be one of the four laureates of this award.

Mgr.art. Darina Výbohová
Nominee is a graduate of the department of Free Visual Arts under the supervision of doc. Robert Brun at the Academy of Fine arts in Banská Bystrica. "The development trajectory of D. Výbohová keeps a clear trace of linearity during the study. Already at the beginning of the study, she focused on book segments as the focal point of her artistic interest. The individual semestral outputs were regularly interconnected with the book art in the form of realization of the authors' books - objects, illustrative sets, ... Concentrated approach in this field of artistic and artistic endeavors came to Mgr. degree of study with the idea of a generous concept solution of diploma thesis. The author draws on the classical literary fund and decides to reinterpret and redesign the selection of Dobšinský fairy tales. It seeks room for new visualization of text, a combination of traditional and non-traditional, Accenting absurdity, desolation, evil, violence modifies the language of illustration itself into expressive, dramatic optics. The three-volume, highly authorial realization gains the parameters of professional approach "(Robert Brun, acad.mal.).
